what makes her an awesome tutor
I know what it feels like to look at a page of math problems and feel absolute dread because you just can’t get it. What I want to tell both myself in the past and to any of my students is that that feeling is temporary. Any math problem can be conquered with enough practice and the correct method. It’s simply a matter of trying to find a way of doing math that works for you and then practicing that until you can do it in your sleep. I promise to be patient and understanding during this process and to keep working with you until we find the method that you like.
Life Goal: Own a sheep farm.
Words to Live By: “It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default.” - J. K. Rowling
Favourite Mathematical Weapon: A good picture! Math is much easier to conceptualize when it can be seen especially because most people are visual creatures.

Education: University of Toronto, Computer Science.
Fave Tech device: Do my earphones count?
Fave Book: Ohh I really do hate this question. I’m going to go cliché and say the Harry Potter series because duh but I also love anything that Tamora Pierce writes.
Fave Song: Anything Frank Ocean has ever sung. Oh and Ichiko Aoba because her music is so gentle and soothing.
Fave Outfit: In an ideal world I’d just raid Beyonce’s and Rihanna’s closet but realistically you can never go wrong with a simple sundress and some sandals.
Fave TV Show: Well fav of all time is Star Trek TNG but I also really love the new Queer Eye!
Fave Movie: It’s a cross up between Iron Man 1 and Moonlight and Pride and Prejudice honestly.
When you're not crunching numbers: (Spare time, what’s that???) When I do get time to myself I’m usually either reading, watching sitcoms, hanging with my friends, running, or knitting.
What's the best thing about you? I like to think that I’m understanding of where people are in their lives. Life is difficult and sometimes a little bit of empathy can go a long way.
I read research papers on genome biology and astrophysics in my free time because those are 2 fields I couldn’t see myself pursuing professionally but still remain deeply in love with. I make excel spreadsheets for literally everything and love making to do lists (especially during exam time when I get to make my study schedule). I keep track of all the books I read during the year and set myself annual goals. I have had a LOT of cats. I could go on honestly.
