what makes her an awesome tutor
I had bad teachers. No, really. Like, REALLY BAD. My friends and I had to teach ourselves because my teacher would get stuck in the middle of a problem during class. It hlped understand exactly how someone might get confused.
I’m also young-ish. I’m 21, so I’m young enough to know how memes work (I have a fun 9gag account that’s pretty successful) and old enough to realize that it’s okay to not know what you want out of life. I was always the annoying class nerd who knew way too much about math and science until I finally decided to do other things in high school. I am now doing my M. Eng in Biomedical Engineering at U of T.
Life Goal: I wish I knew.
Words to Live By: Regrets? Pain? Kidney stones? It all passes eventually.
Favourite Mathematical Weapon: SLOW DOWN. Does it make sense logically?
get to know VY
Education: BASc in Engineering Science (Biomedical Systems Engineering). Currently doing my M. Eng in Biomedical Engineering.
Fave Tech device: My friends PS4. Still trying to get into all the video games my mom didn’t let me play. Oh, and the ones I make. I made my 3D printer. And Mantis, my robot.
Fave Book: 1984. A Thousand Splendid Suns. Anything sad. I like to go through most of my emotional quota with books.
Fave Song: Ha! I wish. Who can pick one?
Fave Band: Imagine Dragons
Fave Outfit: If I had my way, no one would wear anything and there would be no judgement. I view clothing as a strictly hygienic thing. But since I live amongst civilized folk, I’ll have to say – tank-top and sport shorts. I always look like I’m cosplaying as Sporty Spice.
Fave TV Show: Spongebob Squarepants, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, Drawn Together (any adult animated series)
Fave Movie: I don’t really watch many English movies. But my favourites are Disney ones. Mulan, Brave, Pocahontas, The Emperor’s New Groove – anything about self-change and with great songs.
When you're not crunching numbers: I sleep. It’s my favourite thing to do.
What's the best thing about you? I’m funny, kind of. You will probably politely laugh at my bad jokes until you’re comfortable enough to roll your eyes.
I do logic-y math puzzles for fun! Yeah, I know.
