what makes her an awesome tutor
I used to struggle in math for a long time. It wasn't until high school, when my teacher gave our class a project, that I really started enjoying math. We were assigned a chapter in the textbook and were told to learn it, and come up with a lesson plan and teach the unit to the class. The project was amazing!! It really made me think of multiple ways to explain concepts and come up with examples. Not only was this helpful for my peers, but it helped solidify concepts for myself. Since then, with every new math concept I learn, I teach to all my friends. I've been told I am great at explaining :)
Life Goal: To teach mindfulness and coping skills to as many people as I can, especially those suffering from depression and anxiety disorders.
Words to Live By: You can't live a positive life with a negative mind.
Favourite Mathematical Weapon: WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN! When I first started learning math, I had a difficult time finding connections and solving the problem. After I started writing down all the given information and all the unknowns, just like magic - things started making more sense!
