what makes her an awesome tutor

What makes me awesome is that I cater to every one of my lessons to fit YOUR desires and YOUR needs. I find it essential to make an effort to build personal relationships with every one of my students. What is crucial for me to share is what makes me awesome is that I live with ADHD and multiple learning disabilities! What does that mean? It means that I learn differently and live life differently compared to my friends who do not live with ADHD. To those who are in the same boat as me, I get how hard it can be to try to explain what you are feeling. For me, what makes me awesome is that I consider that. I take into consideration how you learn, and how your brain works so that we reach an optimal level of learning! For me, getting you excited about math is everything. It is my goal to get you excited, but also understanding and learning how YOU learn and how YOU study!

Words to Live By: “Failure is success in progress” – Albert Einstein

Favourite Mathematical Weapon: Re-explaining in different ways, bringing up random formulas at random times to see if you have it embedded in your memory! I like to take formulas and break it down into little pieces to show what it is asking of you! It works!

Education: Funny story! I first started off with a BA in political science. I always thought that the STEM field wasn’t for me. I never excelled in math’s or sciences when I was in high school. When you're not crunching numbers: I am volunteering! I LOVE spending my time giving back and making sure that am enlightening the lives of other youth! I also love listening to music, reading, and going for a walk. I am also a Jack Talks Speaker, where I go to high schools and elementary schools like yours, and talk to you about mental health and stigma around it! So, who knows? You may be my next audience!

What’s the best thing about you? I understand what it is like to struggle in math. I know what it is like to not understand. For the longest time, I thought that “math people” actually existed. Now, I know that is not the case. It is about the way you organize and think about math. The best thing about me is that I understand empathy and I understand what it is like being in a tough situation. Being in that situation makes me more aware and understanding of problems in math. It also makes me aware of you as a person.
